It’s Official – Penis Size Matters … to Dudes

Penis Size Matters

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, then you know penis size is a pretty hot topic. Celebrities, politicians and people off the street have zero problems discussing the proportions of each other and men in the public eye. Even clinical researchers have turned their attention to the measurements of the male organ. Many websites now offer penile extender reviews and articles on enlargement for men. Over the years there have been studies that establish national averages and how they compare across the globe. Other studies have asked women to compare photos and even 3d models in order to determine what women want. But one study recently found a new angle on the whole “Does size matter” debate.

Univeristy of CaliforniaA group of researchers from the University of California set out to learn about how men see themselves and whether or not that had an effect on their sex life. Since body image – and body shaming – are big topics in the news today, there has been great interest in learning how both men and women feel about their bodies. In this study, men were asked specifically about how they felt about the appearance of their penis and testicles. This wasn’t just about size or focusing on men who were reading penile extender reviews – it focused on appearance in general.

More than 85% of the men involved in the study reported being generally happy with the appearance of their genitals. Still more than a quarter of the men in the study reported they weren’t satisfied with the size and shape of their penis in its flaccid state. This illustrates why so many penile extender reviews include measurements and photos of the penis in both states – clearly men have concerns on their penile appearance even when they are not viewing it in a sexual context.

Another surprising finding had to do with how sexually active men were in connection to how they felt about the appearance of their penis and testicles. Men who were not generally happy with the appearance of their genitals were less likely to be currently sexually active. This suggests that anxiety even about just one area of the body can affect a person’s overall quality of life. For these men, penis enlargement can often offer the boost they need for their self-esteem, even if their penis is of average size.

This kind of finding drives home something men have known for years – concerns about penis size are just as serious as concerns about any other physical issue. Men who worry about weight, hair loss or any other part of their appearance know that sometimes, one issue has a way of triggering another. For these men, tackling the issue of penis size is sometimes the last thing they approach since it isn’t as mainstream as other options. But once they make the commitment to take the necessary steps, they see the difference it makes in their overall self-esteem as well as their sexual self-confidence.

This issue is brought up often in penile extender reviews written by men who have undergone the process. Many report they started with measurements that were completely normal. Increasing size for these guys was, of course, partly to do with simply being bigger but it was also motivated by something deeper. For these men it’s about improving the way they feel about themselves in and out of the bedroom. For these men, penile enlargement if about self-confidence more than anything else. So, in this way, turns out that size may be important after all – just not in the way we’ve thought of in the past.
