Is Your Penis Too Small? Find Out if You Measure Up … And if That Even Matters

Say what you want about quality over quantity – size still matters. It matters to women and, perhaps more importantly, it matters to men. Penis size is about more than just sexual performance, it’s about self-confidence. Many men, however, have grown up and come to age in a time when so much misinformation was being spread about sex that they may be confusing enlargement with enhancement – a mistake that could leave them unfulfilled, frustrated and no closer to answers.

The Kinsey Report and How It Shaped Male Self-Esteem

There was a time when people simply did not discuss sex or any sexually related topic in public. It was done in whispers, in closed conversations and through articles and advertisements printed in the back of seedy magazines. The Kinsey team changed all that when they launched the first nationwide sex census in the mid-1940s. Their two books, Sexual Behaviour in the Human Male and Sexual Behaviour in the Human Female were printed in 1948 and 1953 respectively and their publication brought sex into the public spotlight once and for all. The reports, while well intentioned, did contain several errors. Some were corrected in later editions but a few of the myths established in the original reports remain with us today. Among them is the enduring yet incorrect belief that the average penis measures in at 7 inches when erect. This was the result of the researchers asking men to self-report their measurements. Many years later, researchers began doing their own measurements and (surprise, surprise!) the true average length of the American male was actually between 5 and 6 inches when erect. Nevertheless, the seven inch standard has endured and men today still believe it’s true. As a result, many guys think they are below average when, in truth they may be right on target.

Of course, penis enlargement isn’t always about measuring up – sometimes it’s about self-esteem. The fact of the matter is that even guys who know they aren’t exactly lacking sometimes feel bad about the size of their penis. Reading through penis enlargement reviews is often enlightening as reviewers are frank, open and honest about their starting and ending measurements – most of which never even skirt the lower end of average. Many of the men who write penis enlargement reviews state outright that they didn’t undergo enlargement just to satisfy a partner – but because it made them feel better about themselves and more confident in a number of situations.

Self-Esteem, Sexual Performance and Penis Enlargement

The ironic truth about penis enlargement is that it won’t necessarily improve your performance. Many penis enlargement reviews mention the fact that the growing pains associated with enlargement and the increased size meant that men had to go back to the drawing board in order to develop then hone a new technique for while the enlargement was happening and then after the fact. That doesn’t mean that the enlargement process wasn’t worthwhile, simply that it wasn’t the sexual panacea some companies hype it to be.

Most men fall well within the average measurements for penis size. This means that typically men don’t have to worry about undergoing enlargement simply to fit into the mold of what they feel is social acceptable. But men often choose to undergo enlargement anyway once they read through penis enlargement reviews and discover the impact it can have on a man’s sexual self-confidence as well as his overall self-esteem. Enlargement, as with any type of body modification or conditioning, is often something people are only willing to put in the time, energy and effort to achieve when they accept once and for all that these changes are for themselves more than anything else.
